Gutter and downpipe clearance
Clear gutters, flowing downpipes and no more moss hanging baskets.
Got a garden growing in your gutters? We handle gutter and downpipe clearance across the Isle of Wight. We use a high-reach gutter vacuum for long runs and awkward edges, and we are not shy of using ladders either.
Where needed, we climb up, disconnect elbows and hoppers, scrape out anything stubborn and make sure your downpipes are actually flowing. No mess, no faff: just water going where it should.
Leaves, moss, roof grit, tennis balls and the occasional mystery compost: we have cleared the lot. A proper clearance keeps rainwater in the guttering and out of your walls, helping prevent leaks, damp patches and overflowing gutters.
How it works
We clear the gutters and check the water can get away.
Check access
We look at the property, note obvious blockages and decide whether vac, ladders or both are needed.
Clear the debris
We remove moss, leaves, roof grit and stubborn build-up from gutters, hoppers, outlets and bends.
Check the flow
Where access allows, we check downpipes and outlets so rainwater drains properly again.
Also available
Gutter and fascia cleaning for extra kerb appeal.
Once your gutters are flowing again, we can wash the outsides of gutters, fascias and soffits so the place looks as tidy as it drains.

Gutter clearance FAQs
Common questions before you book.
How often should I get my gutters cleared?
We recommend having gutters cleared at least once a year. It is usually best to remove debris after autumn and winter, before heavier spring rain. If your property is overhung with trees, more frequent clearing may be sensible.
How much does gutter clearance cost on the Isle of Wight?
Pricing depends on property size, height, access and whether downpipes, hoppers or awkward areas need extra attention. Send us your details and we will confirm a tailored quote.
How do you clear blocked gutters?
We use a high-reach gutter vacuum system for most runs, reaching many areas safely from the ground. If a blocked downpipe cannot be cleared by vacuum alone, we use ladders where suitable to access the joint, disconnect sections and remove the blockage properly.
I have gutter guards or hedgehogs. Can you still clear my gutters?
Yes. We can temporarily remove and refit gutter guards or hedgehogs where needed. In many cases, regular professional clearance is more reliable than leaving debris to build up around guards.
Can you inspect gutters with video?
Yes. On request, we can inspect guttering and provide a clear video so you can see blockages, standing water, loose joints or problem areas without guessing or climbing a ladder.
Are you insured for exterior cleaning?
Yes. Wight Cleaning Co is insured for the exterior cleaning services we carry out. Insurance documents can be supplied on request.
What areas do you cover for gutter clearance?
We cover the Isle of Wight, including Newport, Ryde, Cowes, East Cowes, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Bembridge, Seaview, Wootton, Yarmouth, Binstead and surrounding areas.
